Meter Installation Price Increase

At the February 2022 meeting of the Board of Directors of West Allen Parish Water District, the increase in the costs of parts and materials used in the installation of new water meters was discussed. After research and deliberation a motion was made to increase the price of ¾” residential water meter installations to $950. This cost increase will go into effect April 1, 2022. Also, in an effort to assist the public during this time of inflation, the previous $150 membership fee that was required for all new meter installations was eliminated.
If a road bore is required for a meter installation, the cost is $400, as charged to the water district by the contractor. We have not been notified yet if this cost is going to increase.
